Isn’t it kinda fricked up that archeologists just remove people from their graves?

Some ancient family mourned, prepared their loved one for burial, and selected a meaningful spot to bury their loved one for eternity. Maybe they were buried themselves next to them later.
And then 1,000 years later some dork with no real respect for custom or religion comes along and decides he needs to desecrate the bodies in order to figure out what berries the deceased might have eaten the day the died.

Ive always sort have felt the same way. Full disclosure, I'm a total geek when it comes to shows about ancient civilizations, but the whole "hey we found a bunch of tombs, lets dig 'em all up and play with their skulls and pelvis" bothers me a little.

I sort of get your point. I'd have a problem with desecration. I don't consider archeological study desecration.

But first, you need to wonder what happened to all the other bones of the millions of dead people.
One answer comes with battles. There was no way to bury thousands of dead. (The locals wouldn't destroy good farm land to bury strangers.)
First, the bodies would be examined: metals and leather and even shoes would be salvaged. Why not? would you just let goods rot because they were on a dead man?
Then let the bodies decompose. Then go out and salvage the bones. At some point, savy farmers leaned that bone meal is an excellent fertilizer. Just as they learned to bury a dead fish under certain semi woody plants.
Now we cremate, often because of expense. In England a friend was buried two years ago without any chemicals added in a woven basket two days after her unexpected death. The internment was on line. It was beautiful. The spring bulbs her family will plant over her will persist long enough.

It’s the classic Indiana Jones bifurcation. If what you find will be studied and eventually put in a museum then it’s archaeology. If what you find is going into your personal house or on the black market to be sold then it’s grave robbing.

Well you know that when they uncover these bodies that moments are taken to respect the culture that the grave belong to and the person in it
