August 26, 1920 was the day that white men realized that just maybe women were intelligent enough to vote.
The 19th amendment was certified into law and here we are...
Women's Equality Day is only recognized as an "observance" rather than a National Holiday
That's offensive especially if they get a "Juneteenth" and from this day forward I'm day drinking on August 26th.

I do think more federal holidays should be on a Friday instead of a Monday though.
I wouldn't mind having one in the spring that can be the same weekend as we move the clocks. Would cut down on the jet lag.

Ehh, I went golfing and did some home projects. Great day off. We Americans work enough. A few holidays are good for us to unwind.

I actually have come to enjoy Juneteempf. Work slows down, it’s a welcome breath of fresh air in the middle of a busy time. Early summer, kind of pre-4th of July chill day. George Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose tho.

This is my only beef with it. It didn't need to a federal holiday. It was specifically to honor something that happened in Texas.

I find it funny that they celebrate the fact that all the other slaves were freed but Texas was able to keep that info from them for two years. Celebrating being in captivity longer than anyone else.
