This generation didn't grow up with people that lived through the depression... Maybe the tail end of Russian communism or none at all... Didn't talk to any WW2 vet... They all pretty much got a filtered version of major events that shaped this country.. They have no idea what a somewhat honest media is... They don't know life without internet and cell phones...

When kids got widespread access to automobiles they could be away from the homestead or the house with ease.
that was a much greater change for teenagers in one generation to another because they can physically go beyond the control of their parents
Stop whining if your kids are in the house you can control them deny them access to social media problem solved

I think you misspelled Gen Z because Gen Xers aren't the ones blaming Boomers. Hell, I would be willing to bet the vast majority of complaints about "Boomers keeping me from getting promoted" are actually directed towards Gen Xers.

It's because of media propaganda trying to drive the youngsters back to socialist platform. Its seems almost daily there is an article published about Boomers are the reason the younger generations can't get what they are entitled too.

someone else posted this as well, and i replied. you're probably right, it's mostly millenials and then younger generations copying the millenials because they like having someone else to blame.
millenials are mostly to blame for this phenomenon, and it's only goign to get worse. i predict gen-z will begin to blame the gen-xers once the boomers have all died off. and so on.
it's now a cultural norm to blame older generatiosn on your propblems based on very nebulous factors. "my friend's boomer parents have a 3500 sqft home and a second vacation home at the beach and that is why i am broke"

I'm curious if Animal Farm is still required in schools anymore. I've noticed my kids haven't read Animal Farm, 1984, or a Brave New World which I think is a shame.

At times, I feel like doing nothing as much as anybody else. However, speaking from my experience, this generation wants to do nothing all the time.
Such as basic stuff like driving, working, getting a degree, and even getting laid. They just sit around doing very little, living with mom and dad or grandparents, without a life plan for their future.
I was never the best student or hardest worker, but I always wanted financial independence and some freedom. So, I got a college degree and have always worked, earning a paycheck.
If I want to frick off to the beach or travel abroad, I can do that, even if it is solo. I'm not sure how many of this generation will do stuff like that.

I don't get that one either. When you are so uninspired you don't even want to drive somewhere to (try to) get laid, you're fricking lazy.
