Is this generation of young people the most different of any generation ever?

It seems like just 15 years ago when I was graduating highschool the world was so different. These kids feel like 200 years difference in that short time span.
I dont even know how to describe it, but they are so out of touch with reality its wild.

Now think back to how cool you thought you were just 15 years ago. You may have been back then, but the next generation will think you suck and are antiquated. And this isn't unique. Every generation feels the same bout past and present generations. Its more a matter of the degree of contempt you have for all of them.

Ubiquitous smartphones, unlimited and unfettered access to the internet and social media, covid lockdowns during a key period of social development, widespread decriminalized weed, and an economic reality which makes most social gatherings that were routine for prior generations largely unaffordable.
I feel like the reality of being in college in 2026 is more different from my experience in 2010 than mine was from someone my age in 1970. It could just be an exaggeration or the natural process of getting older, but it really does seem vastly different.
I think the reason for this stark difference in perspective is obvious: gen Z is the first generation in a century who undeniably have it harder than their parents. Conditions are so much worse for them that it is impossible to successfully gaslight otherwise (though boomers on this board still will). It’s easy to respect your elders when you can see your ceiling in life is higher because they gave you more opportunities than they had. It’s easy to see how people in the opposite situation can develop resentment in the same way.

it's also becoming increasingly normal to hate previous generations and blame them for all your problems. all the gen-xers and millenials who love shitting on boomers all day and blaming them for everything better stand the frick by, because we're going to get it ten times worse when today's kids grow up.

Half of em think they’re gay and all have been raised on cell phones/tablets.

It’s mainly the “boys”. I’m not sure they’ll ever get to “Man” status. These pussies are lost with nothing that motivates them rise up and roar. My dealings with the ones in my circle shows them haplessly getting blown by the wind. No conviction, no discipline, no accountability for actions or inactions. Very glad to be a shortimer in this fuked up world.

My kids are between 20-24. I didn't raise them for me, I raised them for the world. They spend their time on their phones, but they also enjoy going do outdoor activities (hiking, rafting, fishing, shooting), they have friend groups where they have different interests (chess, poker, book club, gym workouts). They have jobs and degrees in the STEM field and invest a steady % of their money. They cook for themselves. I stress the importance of maintaining real life friendships and doing things with those friends.
Some parents raised their kids for them and coddled their kids because that was what was easiest.

I don't know any GenXers who shite on Boomers or blame them for their problems. Not saying they don't exist, but they aren't as prevalent as Millennials or younger generations. The Boomer hate is strange to me in its irrational application. They blame EVERY boomer as if they all had a hand in the alleged problems caused. But will speak fondly of certain Boomers (like Bill Clinton). Anyway, while blaming others for your woes may be cathartic, it doesn't solve your problems.
Thats the biggest problem I see with younger people blaming older people. They get bogged down in it. The focus becomes blaming rather than trying to fix it.
And yes, I'm sure everyone's day will come where a younger person balmes them for all of life's troubles. That's as certain as the sun rising or a shooting in BR.
