Every state has obnoxious people, and townies (not “Southies”) can definitely be annoying. But they tend to brag about sports teams not the state itself. Pats fans are the worst.

Same could be said about La baws wearing Performance Fishing Gear and haven't been on a boat in years.

I didn't know I had to have a 100 head herd for it to be ok to wear a comfortable pair of cowboy boots. By the way you ever seen how many Southern guys wear cowboy boots? Whats ok for a guy to wear in your world? Some White New Balance?

Coming from Atlanta, especially the northern side, Texas feels barren and scorched.

Its funny how its all based on your perspective and where your from. One time, I was on a flight from New Mexico and on the descent into Austin, I overheard a family from New Mexico excited how green it was out the window. Those people would have flipped a lid flying into the deep south.

Have you met any Southies (Bostonians)? They might have different ways of showing their pride in where they live, but they’re far more annoying.

the townies have way more self-awareness and boston >>> any city in texas

Smallies do tend to fight harder. They aren't as big of fighters as stripes or spots.

It also depends on the time of year. Clearly you don't bass fish much.

And Tennessee has better freshwater fishing than both states.

Texas is over the top in the way that it paved over its landscape with corporate office parks and soulless suburbs.

Can you explain this one to me? Cause I don’t know of any big, successful city that doesn’t have a plethora of corporate office parks. Louisiana doesn’t have them cause it doesn’t have the business.
And how would you describe a soulless suburb? Do you mean the houses are all nice and well kept? Cause I’ll take that over the dilapidated, poorly maintained, aging suburbs that are so numerous in Louisiana. Even the newer developments look shittier quicker here cause the local municipalities don’t perform routine maintenance. It’s a fricking joke comparatively speaking.

New Jersey. Many of them have an inferiority syndrome that they aren't from NY and then leave NJ to move to FL and are complete know-it-alls and demanding POSs. NJ must be an insufferable shite hole.

Just remember. You get the Big 12 from Texas HS football, and you get the SEC from ours

It’s a decent litmus test for obnoxiousness. Superiority has nothing to do with it.

I was born and raised in LA. Thought I'd never leave.

But I did, and my God I'm glad I did. You don't really see how bad a shithole LA is until you spend some time away from it. Y'all are desensitized to how polluted, corrupt, and impoverished the state is. Louisianians are the nicest, most fun loving people on the planet.

To a fault. Y'all put up with WAY too much shite from your politicians and "cultures".

Texas is better in every respect. Sorry, but it's just true. And what Louisiana does better, Texas has adopted. The food here is just as good, the hunting and fishing better.

I love going home to LA to visit, but even happier when I leave.

I'm proud to have my Cajun heritage, but glad I got out of there.

100% on every single thing! I even took a job in Lafayette for about a year, thinking I'd be happy to be back "home" in Louisiana. It literally felt like I'd stepped back in time 30 years in a bad way. Everything was still based on being a good ole' boy or knowing someone. A ton of folks (everyone who could afford it!) sent their kids to private schools because the public ones aren't great. Sorry, but Texas really is a better place to live.

what if you are a so called "good ole boy" (this is overstated BTW) and can afford private school?

I think the private school thing is overblown too. You can move to the suburbs and send your kids to public school in a lot of places in LA.

Stay in Louisiana if you like it.
Anybody ever paid attention to the scenery on most Louisiana roads? The roads are shitey and in disrepair to begin with and the natives let the litter stay there as a form of decoration. The overpasses going into Shreveport are ecosystems in their own right with many species or flora growing right there in the dirt on the sides of the bridges.
