Living in the Middle East and Far East for 20 years, I had occasion to own and rent cars for driving locally without ever having a local drivers license. I would trot out my Texas drivers license when necessary and explain that Texas had special status and the license was accepted worldwide. Never was challenged.
Now if you want to talk about winter Texans, that is a whole nuther discussion.

I think the private school thing is overblown too. You can move to the suburbs and send your kids to public school in a lot of places in LA.
Everyone I knew in Laffy sent their kids to STM or Catholic High. I didn't know a single white person where I worked who sent their kids to public school. Not saying every single place is this way, but Lafayette surely was. My Shreveport friends did live in the suburbs and send their friends to Capt Shreve or Southwood, or Byrd. Or they lived in Bossier.

what if you are a so called "good ole boy" (this is overstated BTW) and can afford private school?
Most of my Houston suburban friends could have afforded private schools. We just didn't need to spend our money that way to get our kids a great education.
Good ole boy? Just saying what I saw working for a small-medium sized corporate office. Friends got given contracts when their businesses didn't even do a very good job. The way women were treated in the workplace wasn't so great either. The whole workplace experience literally felt like it was 1985. And yes, I was there in 1985 when half the men assumed I was there to make them coffee instead of do their tax return or audit.

including small mouth that fight twice as hard as large mouth.
i'd wager i've caught more smallmouth than anyone on this website and they do not fight TWICE as hard. that is absurd
He's probably referring to the Guadalupe Bass and pound for pound they do fight harder than largemouth because they spend their lives swimming in fast currents so they're stronger. They just rarely get over 2lbs and yes they put up a good fight to pull out such a small bass.

what Louisiana does better, Texas has adopted. The food here is just as good, the hunting and fishing better. I love going home to LA to visit, but even happier when I leave. I'm proud to have my Cajun heritage, but glad I got out of there.
There’s so many people in Texas who migrated from Louisiana that the Cajun heritage and influence is extremely strong here. That’s why so many kids end up at LSU from Texas. Their parents grew up in LA and got the hell out of there to raise kids in Texas.
Very strong South Louisiana ties in Texas especially in the southeastern portion of Texas. Strong LSU & Saints following. Strong culinary and music ties. It’s gotten to the point where this part of Texas almost feels more like A new South Louisiana than it does traditional Texas.
