Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, south Dakota. Illinois and Indiana are not much fun either.

The drive up I-35 if you're going from Austin to Kansas is pretty bad, gives I-20 a run for its money

A lot of bad interstate drives described here so far.. ive driven W Texas, New Mexico et al and it sucks.. but in terms of drives that many regular people make on a semi-regular basis- the drive from Houston to NOLA (and back) takes the cake, and blows the most IMO.. b/c even if you get lucky and get thru Beaumont unscathed, you know either LC or Laffy will get ya.. and in LC you gotta cross that bridge that we all know is gonna come crashing down sometime soon.. and if neither of those places get you- you absolutely KNOW Baton Rouge will kick your arse and delay you by an hour.. that drive is a pure hellscape, not to mention boring as all get out .

Yes, I've made the drive to and from Montana/Louisina multiple ways. It's a snoozer for most of it. Do not recommend.

Drive across eastern New York New Jersey through Southern New England any time other than Sunday morning. Pay lots of tolls for miserable roads, hard to find restaurants and filling stations, The only new areas are the halos around the various casinos.

Why would you ever go from Shreveport through the Mississippi delta and rural Alabama. Take 49 down to 190, then 10 all the way across

I-49 might be the best interstate in the US in terms of you will never have traffic. I've never had the drive from Shreveport to Laffy take over 2 hr 40 min

Don't throw shade on East Texas. Louisiana and Mississippi, I agree.
