Is the drive from East Texas to Gulf Shores the shi*#iest drive in America?

I-20 across north LA, the heart of Mississippi Delta and bumfuk rural Alabama (and Alabama is actually the cleanest and best part of the drive).
I've never seen nastier gas stations and shittier major roadways in America....it's genuinly depressing to even drive through there for a moment, much less 9+ hours of it.
And just how much $$ have the state and local politicians of Jackson Miss stolen from the taxpayers due to 'road work' over the last 40 yrs?

Almost any interstate drive in this country sucks veiny cocks but I'll tell ya. That drive through the Florida interior on your way to Disney frick has got to be one of the very worst.

You chose Gulf Shores as your destination for your summer vacation and you start a thread bitching about the trashiness of your drive to get there?
I have no particular problem with Gulf Shores, been there many times with family when I was younger.

In terms of boredom?
- parts of desolate West Texas can be rough
- western Nebraska heading into Colorado
- the drive from Omaha south through Kansas is one I’ve made many times and it feels increasingly longer and more miserable each time.
I drove overnight from North Carolina to Omaha in a Mazda Miata. The roads in Kentucky beat my spine to shite and there were parts of southern Illinois and Missouri that were like stepping back in time.

Not bad, just long. SO and I drove it recently to get to her mom and stepdad (both of whom were in the hospital and had just gotten released).

There is a long section of I-55 North that will beat you to frickin death it is so rough.
