I’m talking about driving through. Pueblo is a very odd choice to gripe about driving through.

Try from Jacksonville to Mobile, that stretch of I10 is the most boring 6 hrs of mindless pine trees in existence. I've done it several times heading to La and driving to California from Jax.

Yes. So bad that I think I’m flying into Mobile and renting a car this year. Can’t stand another year of that drive.
As someone who lives in Fairhope (about a 30 minute drive with traffic from Gulf Shores) and commutes to Mobile, you're better off flying into Pensacola, FL instead of Mobile if you're going to Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach. If you fly into Mobile you still have to deal with I-10 tunnel traffic when crossing the bayway in Mobile which can be an absolute bitch from now until Labor Day. However, coming from the Pensacola airport to Gulf Shores you only have to deal with the heavy traffic coming over the bridge into Perdido Key and then a few miles later at the Flora Bama crossing the state line. However, at that point you're basically already at the beach and your destination so dealing with the traffic there is much less annoying.

Agree. That drive is depressing as hell. Shacks, poverty, shitty roads and restaurants. I stopped off in gumplandia once and could barely understand the English being spoken.

Some men on here like to b$tch just like their wives. I do it a few times a year….I think the drive is ok & it’s definitely free of major traffic until you hit mobile.
If you’d prefer a different route…take 49 down to I10 & then you can cross into the lovely town of Baton Rouge hit some real nice refineries & traffic

Try the drives through Indiana and Ohio on for size and get back to me on what qualifies as a shitty interstate drive.

Why would anyone ever do this? Just fly to Hilton Head or West Palm.

Gulf Shores is not worth that drive. And I like Gulf Shores.
The Jackson interstate infrastructure is absolutely deplorable and dangerous. Yet we send $61 billion to Ukraine instead of fixing such things here at home.

The last part of that drive from about Milton, FL to Mobile isn't that bad actually. Passing over both Pensacola Bay (between Milton and Pensacola) and Mobile Bay is a nice reprieve after the five hours of nothing but pine trees between Jacksonville and Milton.

I just drove over 3,000 miles in a couple of weeks. The most pleasant parts were what folks here would say are “boring”, but I loved those 80 MPH speed limit interstates with little traffic in Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Iowa. Even Missouri was decent.
Set the cruise on 82, and you rarely get passed or need to pass. Let it roll. Folks at the rest areas looked normal and nice. If there was construction, they dropped it to one lane at 65 and everyone merged nicely and kept rolling.
As we re-entered Arkansas and Louisiana, it all turned to shite. The first construction area in Arkie was a fricking parking lot.
Arkie also can’t complete I-49 between Fort Smith and Texarkana, so that is a lot of small town two-lane 35 mph bullshite.
Enter LA: Garbage on the shoulders, people driving like idiots, and 10 times more tire carcasses on the roadside in just north LA on 49 than in the rest of the trip combined. Not exaggerating. It is ridiculous how much garbage we have on our roadsides compared to other states. I notice this every time I travel out of the state.

We made a weekend trip driving from East Texas to Ames Iowa for a football game, and it was a terrible drive.
Drive to Nashville was so much better. Even with the 1000000 big rigs.

Spoken like someone who has never driven US-56 between I-25 and Dodge City or someone who has never driven across central Nebraska from north to south.

Not even close.
That would be I-95 from Richmond to Boston.
I-84 from Scranton to Boston aint great either.

Mostly because of the Texas drivers parked in the left lane like no other lanes exist.
Also, You must have never traveled west into Texas. Driving to midland is fricking torture.
