Is Belle Terre in LaPlace still a good place to live?

Passing a Belle Terre sign on I-10 made me think of this.
In the 90s I knew a few people who lived there. Seemed like a nice upper middle class place, with a shorter distance to downtown than Mandeville.
I do not know anyone who lives there now. Is it still a nice place or has it fallen in favor?

I don't know because I haven't been there in quite sometime. I do know that some people that I never thought would leave LaPlace no longer live there.

From what I remember LaPlace got hit really hard from Ida, much more so than New Orleans. I doubt it's really ever recovered from that. Even before Ida, LaPlace never seemed to be anything special.
The only advantage over the Northshore is being a little closer to New Orleans and the Southshore.

Katrina changed Laplace, Ida finished her.

Laplace has more murders than all of Jefferson Parish so far this year. It’s becoming another New Orleans East

I used to really like that area, seems like since they "fixed" the levees/control systems in the late 2000's, LaPlace has flooded a lot more.

They are currently building a levee system around LaPlace.

Mt grandparents lived there for a long time before my grandfather passed away. The biggest thing I took from them living there was listening to how much he hated the annoying harpies from the HOA. My grandmother moved years ago so no clue if that has changed. Other than that it is a nice looking neighborhood,
