100% this^
I was told that it started shifting after Katrina and now Belle Terre is pretty bad. I wouldn't live there. I didn't believe it until 2 years ago when I was considering buying a house out there and after driving through the neighborhood one Saturday night I quickly decided not to. I would compare it to Sherwood Forest in BR. Was great 30 years ago but not anymore.

I think you will get a lot for your money and be a great place for your family to live. Northshore is crowded as F!!! No toll on the Spillway too.

LaPlace was a blast in the 80’s, Bum’s Tavern is where most of the college kids, home for summer, hung out…
Dated two of LaPlace’s finest back in the day. One was a DG at LSU, one was a Kappa at Ole Miss. My Supra knew exit 209 personally..

Grew up in Belle Terre in the 90’s. Kids playing in the streets, we knew all our neighbors, and we played in the new build homes they had going up all around us.

I dated a girl from LaPlace. She was hot at the time but since then has blown up into a balloon, popped out three ugly kids, has a dead end job and looks like she is in a loveless marriage to this rapidly balding loser who looks like he hates every second of his life and is a low end local television producer on a station no one watches
So bullet dodged

Ain't no place in LaPlace good to live in! A total waste of real estate in my opinion. Should've been used as grazing area for cattle!

My cousins lived there back in the 80s/90s. They thought they were hot shite with their trendy neighborhood, their cabbage ball, saying "come see" instead of come here, and all kinds of other weird stuff. Then Katrina put 6' of water in thier living room, and Ida a couple feet in there upstairs. Now they are scattered about Sela on places they hope to be higher ground.

It’s not Old Gretna.

Belle Terre was a good place to live for about 15 minutes in the late 80’s. Golf course was always a cow pasture. I hope you sped up when you passed it.

their cabbage ball
The only place I have seen anyone play cabbage ball is LaPlace. I didn't know it was a thing until I lived there.

It was a good place to be as a kid. Not so sure now. Haven't been back in years.
