Which is why the screams of Trump being an authoritarian are so wrong. If that was his goal, wouldn't the past six months have been prime time to expand his authority? I'm upper middle class by any definition of the word and could withstand unemployment for probably 6 months comfortably and much longer if I tightened the belt.

I agree. But take your meds etc. A friend got it and was relatively ok till the 9th day. Ended up on a vent. but he is now recovered and doing pretty well.

I am honestly confused by this. Because isn't that basically what happened for 2-3 months when this shite first started? Yes, I know there were still people out and about, but it honestly seemed like for the vast majority of people, they were holed up in their homes for the better part of three months. And that didn't stop this shite. I know originally it was to not overload the hospital system(s). But why would shutting down for "six weeks" (in quotes because it would be more than that) do anything this time around?
I am honestly asking, because I don't know the answer. I just feel like locking shite down and not letting people do anything has already been tried and did not work. Yet that is what the government keeps preaching needs to happen again to "get ahead of this thing." Viruses don't just magically go away.

Some people desperately want to shut everything down.
We went through this crap for 8 weeks earlier this year and it didn’t kill the virus.
Like it or not, but this is a long term war...sort of like our fight against the flu, smallpox, etc.
