America didn’t ever implement a strict lockdown.
We had this sort of quasi stay at home order but people were always allowed to go outside.
Many areas really didn’t do much of anything.
Many business’ shut down which is about the most restrictive thing that happened from a governmental standpoint. People were still allowed outside their houses.
So we haven’t hit herd immunity yet and no indication that we will.
Now school is starting back up. There will be a spike in the spread. Book it. Whether it creates a run on hospital beds is the question. That will determine the degree to which things get shut down.

All the boxes checked off
“President Donald Trump’s fanciful claim”
“ told CNN”
“we think we’re going to see”
”the U.S. needs another lockdown”

With the, “experts” constantly changing their positions and being wrong about so many previous predictions, why should we believe anything they say?

This has been the case from the beginning.

I have to wonder whether most Americans think they are a different species or live on another planet than everyone else.
Sweden NEVER closed elementary and middle schools and there are no more child deaths than here, and teachers and staff did not have a higher rate of infection than other jobs.
Let's put Osterholm's paycheck on the line and we will really see how much he likes the idea of more shutdowns.

One thing I’ve noticed about these people is that
1. They love to hear themselves speak
2. Rarely are they ever right

And they aren’t really an expert.

Pretty damn restrictive, and oh the horror of people going OUTSIDE! You know, where transmission is lessened.

NOLA and NYC beg to differ.

What do you think will happen? I think there will be a slight uptick in cases but nothing like March. And last I checked school aged kids were not filling up hospitals. There won’t be anything close to bringing our hospitals to capacity.

Osterholm just told us a few weeks ago masks are useless outside medical settings.
So I guess that's compatible with his lockdown BS.
I hate everyone.

Then let's do it.

This is all political. People screaming about how deadly the virus are aren't even taking the necessary precautions.
Masks don't do shite, social distancing does. Find me one Democrat that has stated 6 ft away from people for the last 6 months. You can't.

It has spread rapidly? 1.53% amongst 330,000,000 people in 6 months is rapid?
To be fair, most estimates are that 10% or so have already had it.

But it never made sense for anyone to talk about Covid in the U.S. as one event. The waves are completely different in different places at different times. Louisiana is a perfect example, just within our own state we've had two very different waves.
Example, using New Orleans region and Acadiana region, notice the two completely different curves
Likely looking at a tourist-induced Mardi Gras spike then, to the actual sub-tropical CoviD season for our area in June.
Pretty clear that Northern latitudes had a more typical respiratory season with this, while the season for the Southern States started in June.
Which states in the South, besides regions in LA, had March/April spikes?

He was on Joe Rogan podcast on March 10th. Said gloves and masks were basically ineffective. Social distancing would help. Also said the most probable scenario was for the virus to run its course. That no one could hide from it forever.
So...his opinion has changed then?
