Osterholm penned an OpEd in Washington Post actually criticizing the lockdown back in March—Advocated for a pragmatic approach instead.
He has long maintained that this is going to be a long haul war, and he has been right more than wrong, and he is always apolitical.

I remember this as well. I have heard him talk against lockdowns several times early on.

I think it could be real bad in some areas and not so bad in others.
Again, it’ll come down to hospital beds. If hospitals can handle the load then I say, keep the wheels turning. Otherwise, more shutdowns

Which is why every single state in lockdown outside of the Northeast and Washington are a bunch of suckers with leaders that have no balls. We all shutdown 3 months early and Texas was never at risk of overrun hospitals. It's all freaking ridiculous. Thank God we didn't have some mini tyrant mandating a nationalized response. In the executive branch.

A lot of the folks like this JACKHOLE like the control they feel when they put people in a perpetual state of fear. They love it more then money or sex. This fellow probably masturbates to pictures of scared people hiding in their homes. He would love to be one of the Doctors in command in 12 Monkeys who would rather not try to reverse the outbreak because he would lose his control.

I don’t think that’s a ridiculous prediction. Schools opening back up WILL result in an increase in cases just like flu spreads within schools.
