Yeah that’s what I was thinking. That’s pretty dated information to be basing such a huge cumulative sum of money on

I think I made 80k last year

That is not the sentiment at all. The outrage is directed at those who did not work before this, already receive a shot ton of free government benefits, and are about to get a nice late Christmas present courtesy of taxpayers.

well i'd be super pissed if that was the case.
made $50k more in 2018 than in 2019. Got a new job in Dec '18. I knew i'd make more in this new job, but also knew i wasn't going to see that money until 2020 b/c of the sales process and lead times for the product i handle, so 2019 was an expected lower income year for me, which was just below that reported threshold.

I'm on disability. Do I get some??????

What if one person in a couple makes over $75k but as a whole we make less than $150k?
Posted on 3/19/20 at 2:13 pm to GeauxTigahs92
Did y’all file jointly? If so, y’all will get money.
Posted on 3/19/20 at 2:13 pm to GeauxTigahs92
Probably based on 2018 tax return filing status and AGI.

It's just another deep dicking of the producers by the takers.
In many ways, I agree with you but a couple that makes 140k pays a lot in federal taxes too.
It's really when you get down to the bottom 1/3 or so where they don't really pay anything.
I think it's stupid because the government doesn't have time to tell who's impacted (lost job etc).

Uncle Sam doesn’t know what we made in 2019 yet. It has to be 2018. I’d rather see a guy that got up every day and worked at Burger King get $20,000 than some worthless piece of shite get a dollar

Another possibly dumb question, but is this gross or net on the 75k/150k?

Yep, that's what burns my arse too. They are in no danger of losing their income during this. This is just a free chunk of the working mans money to get them to keep their greedy bitching whining mouths shut for another week. You know theyll be the first ones throwing bricks at the courthouse.
Trump is pissing me off with this shite. Hes doing a shite job in this department and I expected much better.

Based off the previous year salary, correct? *wipes brow*

Latest proposal is that you will get a check if you made under $99K.
$75K-$99K just wouldn’t receive as much as those who made less then $75K.
Also talking about issuing $1200 instead of $1000.

You know some of us on SS do pay taxes.
Yep, that 5%+ I put in and was matched for 42 years earns me $29500 a year. Great return on what I paid in. SS is NOT a freebee, we paid that monies into the government fund. Oh, forgot that I did get a 1.4% raise for the year, but my insurance went up 6%.
