They should add 1300 Perdido St, New Orleans, LA 70112 to their list removal since it is a known racist organization.

I hope so. I'd argue that Lee was a better human being than Jackson and that it's not even debatable.
I would think that people would be handcuffing themselves to Jackson's statue if not Lee's statue.

If yall let them remove this statue you might as well go ahead and give them the whole fricking city.

I'm wondering when the state will take down road signs indicating where plantations are and using plantations as a tourist attraction to our state by advertisements paid with tax dollars.

If the fights haven't happened, they won't.
A fair amount of pro-monument people didn't go out to protest or whatever else we could do. I'm pro-monument, but we couldn't jeopardize our jobs, or businesses, or whatever that would have come our way. You know the TV news shows, the Advocate and Times-Picayune would have outed everyone and made their lives hell.
Losing lives and livelihoods as well as reputations is too much of a factor. In media anyone not with Antifa and TEDN is racist, white-supremacists and deserves anything and everything that is laid upon them.

Isn't Jackson on a piece of private property anyway? What needs to happen is someone comes along and makes replica statues of Lee/Beauregard/Davis to sell in the New Orleans. What better middle finger to this a-hole is to stick those in your front yard.
The square that Jackson sits in has been there since the founding of New Orleans. Before Jackson it was Place D'armes. I was under the impression the city owned it.

Well, shite then. We better change the name of New Orleans, then!

Yep. The vast majority of businesspeople in NOLA are for keeping Lee and certainly for keeping Jackson.
It's surprising to me that nobody prominent is willing to stick their neck out though. I wish that Benson were still cogent because I have a feeling he would have backed efforts to halt this bullshite if he were.

When you realize that nobody cared about any of this until a white mayor needed to distract from his failures, you'll realize there is no other side to the issue. This is a manufactured con.

Maybe they can just rename it Janet Jackson Square.

Yup.
Alright, I'm going there. Recently, we got a letter from the Orleans Parish Treasury stating that THEY OWE US $1,000 because they overcharged us for property taxes. In order to get the money they acknowledged they owe us, we have to fill out a form, get it notarized (why?) then mail it back to them. Yesterday, I had to pay to park on the street that I already pay taxes to maintain, to go to a doctor's appointment. Then today, the street I needed to drive down was blocked because of a flipping statue that very few locals actually care about. While the government is trying to get us worked up about statues, they are basically robbing us blind. I've only lived in the city for a year but the suburbs are already starting to look pretty darn good.

They did tag the Joan of Arc statue with "tear it down". At this point any connection to Europe is fair game to be torn down/erased. I'm surprised the language hasn't been declared racist yet.
