You know cops will be there. Go the speed limit and quit bitching about getting tickets.

Speed traps have existed for a while. It's the horrible roads that keeps me from driving it. Although the construction in Lafayette is making it worth looking at again.

Cliff notes for speed traps from. BR to Opelousas driving down 190.

And the survey says.

1. Krotz Springs go from 55 mph to 45 mph and cross the bridge and they are shooting radar.

2. Livonia goes from 55 mph to 45 mph. They hang by Chevron station shooting radar Westbound.

3. Port Barre, it goes from 65 to 45 quick.

4. Leaving Point Coupee Parish by Erwinville Eastbound. The WBRPSO sits in Camille’s parking lot right by the redlight.

5. Eastbound where goes from 65 to 55mph near LA 415. Right when you cross the bridge that goes over LA 415 sometimes WBRPSO sits on the other side of the bridge.

6. Candlelight district in WBRP right before the old bridge. It goes from 55 mph to either 50 or 45 mph.

Now on I-49 North right outside of Opelousas there is a nice little town called Washington. They love you to speed in their section of I-49. They will be so excited they will let you donate money to their town.

Washington is the worst. But unfortunately it’s become a race to the bottom in that entire part of the state and even if you regularly drive the speed limit, the inability to use cruise control due to having to constantly slow down through speed traps means you’re destined to get popped eventually. And they wouldn’t have it any other way.

K, then do it. And when a semi wrecks on whiskey bay, please revisit this thread during your 10 hour delay.

Why bitch about a road? Are you advocating demolition of US190?

You have the chance to make your money back at one of the many truck stop casinos in the area.

Port Barre actually has a drive up window to pay speeding tickets. Good thing is they just want their money and don't put it on your record. At least that's how is was about 4 years ago when I got mine.

I’m simply questioning whether these speed traps are more about extracting revenue for rural areas than improving safety.

The funniest thing I ever saw as an old man looked to be in his 80’s or 90’s driving in small Ford Fiesta car. The car was not driving that fast. Then they had swarm of Livonia Police chasing this car.

They stopped him at the redlight in Erwinville by surrounding his car. One officer jumps over his hood and was fixing to try to open the driver’s side door quick. Then others jumped out of their vehicles weapons drawn. Then one officer said it is Mr ____ the old man in town. They all stopped and got out of his way. The guy kept going and cops went back to Livonia.

You had to see it for to see how funny it was.

It used to be a lot worse with speed traps until they moved the 45 mph within the appropriate city limits

Port Barre
Bourque's in Port Barre has great homemade sausage. We used to stop there all the time for sausage to cook at the tailgate.

The best part of 190 is the smelly area by the landfill.

Stinking up the area from the 2016 flood's rotting drywall.

If you are speaking o the stretch around Walker, its been stinking way before 2016, and the stench travels to I-12.
If not, then never mind.

I'd add, WBRSO also likes to sit under the oak trees at the foot of the Old Bridge (Westbound)shooting radar. Its best to drive the speed limit till you get past the Candlelight district. By the time you reach the 415 overpass on 190, you can hammer down.

I was right beside him at the stoplight by the Chevron in Livonia. He got in the construction zone, and get going with Livonia cops on his arse. They came flying by me in the closed lane and had to swerve through the cones.

It was all out Dukes of Hazzard shite....

Could be longer than 15 minutes with all the road work they got going on. I went down 190 to Baton Rouge and back a couple of weeks ago and I didn't have any problem, but then again I don't speed and break the law.
