Slow day on the OT. I have a little bit left of nursing school, when i'm done i'll more than likely move up to MA and do travel nursing for a year or two and stack some cash while my old lady gets to be closer to her family for a couple years. After that, i'm going somewhere not Louisiana and i'm buying land and building a house. Which of these sounds like the best option to do this?
1)Tennessee (my first choice) Pros: closer to family, nice scenery, most temperate option, low COL
Cons: Low pay (breaks even with COL), shitty schools, crime of course.
2) Ohio Pros: Low COL, good schools, solid demographics, tech scene, economy is growing, great overall pay in my field for COL
Cons: Ohio is typically looked at as boring, crappy winters (although not as bad as others), and OSU fans
3)New York (upstate) Pros: Great education system, great demographics, low low crime, solid pay and upstate is much lower COL than the city.
Cons: brutal winters, headless horseman throws pumpkins at you in October, Yankees
4)Massachusetts Pros: Cape Cod, Red Sox, great education system, low crime, active populace, access to Boston, New York, Philly, Baltimore, DC all within a train ride, ol lady's family.
Cons: Extremely high cost of living (100k goes nowhere), tolerable but long winters, lefties and SJWs everywhere, snoody shitty unfriendly people.
5)Texas (my fallback) We all know the pros and cons of Texas. Probably looking at the Eastern and Northern end of the state.

No state income tax in Tennessee either.

Texas is huge. Would you be moving to like Amarillo or El Paso or something like Houston or Austin?

Tennessee for sure because it's the only state you listed in the South.

Because Nashville is the bachelorette capital of the world. Hence the name. Smashville.

I'd only live in NY if it was the city

Maybe it's because I lived in BR and Nola for a decade, but I feel safe as shite in 90% of Nashville.

Tennessee. I’m from 20 miles north so it would be about the same except I’d have to learn to like orange.

Lived in Ohio for three years
No human should live within 100 miles of Cleveland
Very racist State
I am a witness...

I guess you didn't see the pic of my old lady. She's a good girl, a church girl. She would never cheat.

Well I moved to #4, so I guess I'd have to say #4.

Not in Nashville!

Is a big God damn state. Where in Texas? Near Austin it's at the top of my list. Anything West of Ft. Worth, not so much.
I'd probably go to one of your NE options. Winters probably better in MA.

I would rank them...
1) Tennessee
2) Texas
3) New York
4) Massachusetts
5) Ohio
Hard to really say though... there are parts of all those states that are better or worse than parts of all the rest.

Gun to my head, Texas. And it’s not really debatable
