So a week long vacation but weird?

I would like a week to work on my lanyard skills. Maybe some archery too.

Is this how The Villages are?

The trend of modern adults infantalizing...themselves...is wild
I get longing for a simpler time when your stressed...but most people long for college...maybe high school. I find it odd to think back to and try to recreate the days of arts and crafts and child activities.

Just looked at the websites. It looks like almost any all inclusive vacation.
kayaking, swimming, games, drinking, etc
Just bunk style housing instead of hotel style.
Looks fun to me

I spent two weeks of my summer vacation living in a tent and volunteering at the National Scout Jamboree in W. VA. I was teaching kids how to fish/fly fish. Worked WAY harder than my regular job.
Does that count?

Here's a clue!

So it’s a family vacation for people without family (or friends)
Not my jam and the folks are probably there because they are challenging in their day to day but go have fun

I mean, whatever creams your Twinkie … but personally when I take a vacation I’m trying my damnedest not interact with people unless it’s necessary

NGL, this actually sounds like fun. It’s a vacation away from the wife and kids.

If you go to Adult Camp, you are not an adult!
A person spending money they earned in any manner they wish is completely consistent with being an Adult. The outsides worlds opinion on the matter is irrelevant. Further I’d argue that complaining about this is childish.

This honestly looks like a blast. It's not that different from going to a resort that has lots of activities. Maybe the bunk beds and sleeping bags, but if a group of friends wanted to go, I'd join for sure.

If an individual chooses to have zero joy in their lives they are free to make that decision. Those joyless fricks ALWAYS get worked up over other people enjoying themselves. Why would anyone care what these people do for fun? They ain't hurting anything AND they are making a business viable. I would get it if the state insisted that everyone go to summer camp but no one is being forced to go....let people enjoy their lives and I am certain they will let you be miserable in yours.....

Not sure why some are shaming this.
I am certain why...they are joyless fricks and hate anyone who has some joy in their lives. They do not know how to enjoy life. It is actually very sad on a human level.

Yeah I'm not gonna dunk on these folks.
No. Adults pretending to be children deserve to be shamed.

I have a few friends who do silent retreat at Manresa once a year. It honestly sounds pretty good. No one talking to you for three days?? Sign me the frick up.
I have young kids right now so it would be tough, but might try it when they are older.
