....I was in college at LSU in the 80s....there was plenty of crappy things about the 80s....it was no better or worse than today.....just different.
The 18 year old drinking age made college so much funner. it was the heyday of fraternity and sorority life.
I do remember towards the latter part of the 80's all the stores having signs with the last birthdate for the 18 year old drinking age and feeling bad for the kids who just missed it. I had a friend who missed it by a matter of days.

Yes, I would go back to that time bc my kids were born then.

The 80's were my glory days (I was a pre-teen in the 80s). Take me back. I was a bit younger than the kids on Stranger Things in the late 80s. Loved it. Simpler time for sure.

OP: The 80s weren’t bad, the economy did some gyrating but for a kid, adolescent, or a twenty-something, not bad at all.

The drinking law changed from 18 to 21 during the summer of ‘95.
I grew up in the 80s and am very nostalgic about that time. I’d go back in a second.

it was a great time to be a kid...all the modern amenities you needed i.e. air condition, microwaves, cable tv, phones, and transportation. But still no bs social media, no cell phones, we weren't smothered by political correctness. good times.

Yep. The overlying feeling of pending mutually assured destruction allowed people to be live a little more in the moment. It was quite the party.

Best part of pre internet days, you could have a normal existence and never hear about them.

The media sure did make it sound as bad as those damn russkies. But honestly, living in South Louisiana, we had almost zero chance of catching the HIV.
