How dare you suggest people be responsible for their actions.

What is stopping you from eating the same amount of food without injecting yourself with a drug?

Aaahh downvotes with no response. Hallmark of guilty people.

Again, following the typical OT trend of "I hate fatties" but when the fatties find a way to lose weight "OMG HOW DARE THEY".
I think his beef (no pun) is primarily with the idea that the government should pay for Ozempic.

And I agree that would be a horrible use of taxpayer money.

A better way to induce people to lose weight would be to tie insurance premiums/deductibles to body fat %.

I was fat, then I just ate less and didn't require an injection to do it. Shocking outcome.

Wouldn't taking a drug to lose weight be taking responsibility for their actions?

Are you against anti-cholesterol drugs as well?

Ozempic does more than just help you eat less and feel full longer.

While doing that, it quiets to food noise that make people think about a food until they eat it.

It breaks the dopamine addiction over eaters get when they eat.

It brings down the high levels of insulin that help the food craving/dopamine hit cycle.

It breaks the addiction to food that many overweight people have.

Some people even said the government should cover this for everyone.

it would save the government money, in theory. heck have them pay for gym memberships too.

I also think that government food programs should be heavily restricted and not included most frozen or processed foods. (if they are going to exist at all, which is a whole different argument)

Are you really that incapable of not eating too much food? Are you so incapable of control that you'll sign up to jab yourself with drugs for the rest of your life with yet undetermined side effects? If you ever come off Ozempic the weight will start coming back. So you're signing up to beg big pharma for your shot for life.

What's the difference between OZempic and Nicotine patches to get people off of smoking?

In a perfect world, people wouldn't need it. But they do, and it works, so why not use everything they can?

If someone becomes obese and ends up on Insulin they lose 12 years. So I support medications that allow people to KEEP those 12 years.

Is there any other way to not be obese other than taking drugs?

You have no idea what you're talking about

You're seeing a couple of celebrities taking this to reduce their weight and think that's what Ozempic is for.

At the same time, how much money would the government save in government-based insurance if they covered weight loss medication?

I save way more than that on food alone. I'm never hungry. I have to remind myself to eat. I have more energy. My cholesterol is down. My blood sugar is down. I don't have back pain or plantar fasciitis. I sleep better. I don't snore.

It might be the single best investment in my health and well being of all time. It will definitely save me money on health care costs in the long term.

You simply don't know what you're talking about

the difference is you can’t correctively fix your vision by just eating healthier and exercising and not just being a general fat slob.

IDC if lazy fat people take ozempic, but the government subsidizing it would be outrageous

So all of their problems could be solved by eating less but they choose not to?
