FYI they aren't experimental. Semiglutides have been around a very very very long time. Possibly longer than you have been alive

Ozempic does more than just help you eat less and feel full longer.

While doing that, it quiets to food noise that make people think about a food until they eat it.

It breaks the dopamine addiction over eaters get when they eat.

It brings down the high levels of insulin that help the food craving/dopamine hit cycle.

It breaks the addiction to food that many overweight people have.

And that's why it's also being studied for eating disorders and addiction behaviors.

Imagine if Oxempic blowing up resulted in a legitimate, less harmful treatment for addiction?

At the same time, how much money would the government save in government-based insurance if they covered weight loss medication?

This is the one decent argument-- I do understand the cost of supporting fats is going to be crippling in a few years and on a pure cost analysis, Ozempic at least for the short term appears to be an economic gain comparatively.

Ozempic really bothers people whose self worth is built on not being overweight.

Do you really not want people who are overweight to become less so?

Why do you care if a person is losing weight , trying to get healthier?
You seem like a count.

The cost of Ozempic is too high.

I don't think the gov would save much and likely would be far more costly.

Tying insurance rates to body fat % is free.

it also bothers people like OP who are fat and can't lose the weight then get jealous of people they deem to be "cheating" and losing the weight.

IDC if lazy fat people take ozempic, but the government subsidizing it would be outrageous

I'm against virtually all government subsidies and I am ok with people dying n the ditch from starvation.

However, since we are paying a shite-ton in subsidies and healthcare, this would save billions of dollars, maybe trillions.

Instead of soup, they could give the homeless shots at the soup kitchen.

You're seeing a couple of celebrities taking this to reduce their weight and think that's what Ozempic is for.

I know what Ozempic is designed for. I also know the side effect everyone actually uses it for.

Ah you again. I was fat, and lost the weight. By eating less and walking more. What a revelation.

So all of their problems could be solved by eating less but they choose not to?

It attacks the body chemistry and addictions that make choosing to eat less much harder than you suggest. It’s not the same decision for them that it is for you when you choose to eat less.
