re: If you brag about your weight loss on Ozempic, you're a clown

I know what Ozempic is designed for. I also know the side effect everyone actually uses it for.
Ozempic is FDA approved for weight loss so they are, in fact, using this drug as it is prescribed.

Ah you again. I was fat, and lost the weight. By eating less and walking more. What a revelation.
no you didn't, fatty. you're jealous because you can't lose the weight so you're cosplaying as someone who did it the "right way"

And that's why it's also being studied for eating disorders and addiction behaviors.
Imagine if Oxempic blowing up resulted in a legitimate, less harmful treatment for addiction?
That’s what’s really exciting about this drug. Even better, Mounjaro. I’ve seen people quit smoking with little to no effort and many others who quit drinking completely.

So, people like you are disgusted by the fatties whilst at the same time being disgusted at the fatties who do lose weight?
This is a you problem, bud.

This is the one decent argument-- I do understand the cost of supporting fats is going to be crippling in a few years and on a pure cost analysis, Ozempic at least for the short term appears to be an economic gain comparatively.
This was my only argument. Personally I am in favor of virtually zero entitlements, but they exist and aren't going anywhere.
I think things like Ozempic could in theory save the Fed Gov millions of dollars in the long run.

FDA has issued a boxed warning (formerly “black box warning”) for Ozempic and Wegovy, citing a risk of thyroid tumors and cancer.

What's the risk of that (ie how many people actually have those occurrences) vs the amount of money fat people cost.

For the government to cover Ozempic for every fat person would cost an ungodly amount of money. You're expecting people to have the government take their money to pay for your fat shots because you're too incompetent to not gorge yourself on Raising Cane's. Grow up.
I don't support the government paying for ozempic, or any Healthcare for that matter. But if we have to pay for something than Ozempic is surely a lot cheaper than paying the bills for a country full of fat fricks with diabetes and heart problems and all the other negative health side effects of being a lard arse.

You do know ozempic causes gastroparesis
like the diabetes it's prescribed for?
and you're vastly overblowing the risk there. LINK
quote:
Although the gastrointestinal adverse drug reactions of semaglutide are well known, gastroparesis is unusual. The fact that patients' symptoms significantly improved once the use of Semaglutide was discontinued highlights the need to recognize medication-induced gastroparesis as a possible diagnosis, especially in individuals with risk factors.

and cancers
weird, because a study also showed that people on GLP-1s had lower risks of obesity associated cancers.
LINK
quote:
Findings This cohort study of more than 1.6 million patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) who had no prior diagnosis of 13 OACs found that patients with T2D treated with GLP-1RAs vs insulin had a significant risk reduction in 10 of 13 OACs, including esophageal, colorectal, endometrial, gallbladder, kidney, liver, ovarian, and pancreatic cancer as well as meningioma and multiple myeloma. No decrease in cancer risk was associated with GLP-1RAs compared with metformin.
there was an uptick of thyroid cancer in rodents, but no evidence of the effect to humans. you're taking a warning/disclosure from the manufacturer as if it's a scientific study proving it lol

Sure. But humans being humans, not all of them will. So not being an insufferable moralist who enjoys feeling superior over obese people, I tell them to consult their physician and make the choice that’s best for them. Their health of course, being infinitely more important than the opinions of some masters of the universe guys on the internet .

Try trillions. The obesity epidemic is a ticking time bomb in this country.

why was a black box warning issued by the FDA if there is no risk?
The medication isn’t necessary—it’s for fat fricks that will always remain fat because they have no discipline.
It also causes muscle loss so have fun with the skinny fat physique, blocked intestines and cancer

Guess what happens if you lose lots of weight the right way and don't lift? You lose muscle mass.

Pro Health Clinics in Memphis. They have 4 or 5 locations around the city.
So they start you out with blood work and all that. Then they monitor you as you go up in dosage.
I found that .5 is the right dose for me. At first I had to take it every week. But now I can take it every 3 or 4 weeks. Like if Thanksgiving is coming up and I want to enjoy the food I'll take one shot early November and my appetite will come back towards the end of the month.
Basically I buy one series of take home shots. They give you one at the visit and then they give you four to take home. I think it's $500. That lasts me 4 months.
It's easy for me to maintain around #200. I can get myself to 190# by just taking them more often. At my biggest I was #255 (I'm 6'1").
It just takes away my appetite. I eat a few bites out of habit and it makes me feel full. It just works for me.

Why do you care how people lose the weight? Good for you that you did it on your own.
