No because we don’t train for combat or survival anymore. Guns are just backups. If guns didn’t exist and we had to battle neighboring cities everyday we would go back to training with swords in our neighborhoods.

Personally I'd gain weight.

Setting up the duck decoys in the flooded rice fields is a workout.

Not sure about the weight issue, but this illustrates why handguns are such an equalizer. A smaller female can use a handgun to defend herself when she would otherwise be at the mercy of a stronger attacker’s fists, blunt weapons, etc. If only we could return to a time when everyone recognized and exercised their moral responsibility to carry a weapon and was prepared to use it in defense of themselves or others from evil.

Base line human trait analysis.

When welfare expanded in the 60s marriage rates started declining, lesser need of dependence.

We often try to complicate issues, I was just thinking of a universal regression trait. Many boys take up karate or start lifting weights after they meet a bully they want to fight.

Motivation.

Nevermind the fact that they walked everywhere they went and basically only ate bread and drank water and stayed drunk from sunset to sleep

What if smaller penises have a higher rate of impregnation? Larger penises beat up the cervix causing swelling closing/restricting the opening to the uterus. While able to impregnate, larger penises are less successful.

That’s why global population patterns are directly correlated to penis size. Asia, the furthest away from the natural migration of man from Sub-Saharan Africa, has the largest population.

A culture emerges from the pattern. Those societies to first deal with overpopulation evolved culturally to maintain order.

Think laws in cities vs laws in rural areas. Noise ordinance, no firearm zones, etc…..the more people together, the more law and order needs to be imposed.

If after Tens of thousands of years, You’re Still 50 miles away from the nearest other village you don’t really need as many laws.

TLDR: size matters

If the moon were made of cheese, would you eat it?

Would I have to explain, if you only had a brain?

Are guns a contributory or even the Freakonomics reason the US is fat?

They contribute about as much as the spoon and fork

Guns were around for hundreds of years before Americans got this obese though. Unless your theory involves weight being an obscenely lagging indicator, you're wrong.

Part of the reason I worked out so hard in college was because I was afraid to get my arse kicked. The other part was for pussy.

Native Americans attacking People last until the end of the 1800s.

People didn’t start feeling “safe” until later.

Think about houses with bars on windows, Those houses were made in the 40s and 50s.

The same fear of being attacked in the middle of the night doesn’t seem to exist like it did before.

That Feeling of safety leads to chubbier people.

I'm pro-gun but the thought of watching live sword fights break out at the Quik Trip would be kinda cool.
