Some drier air getting sucked in? Note I'm not an expert, so it's a genuine question.

then leaving in the middle of a storm is statistically idiotic.

Yes it is. The window to evacuate has passed for most of FL. Best to hunker down at this point.

CNN and their bullshite will be all in on climate change on this one.

So much climate change, went from 30 named storms in 2020 to 9 this year. We need more of this climate change.

But he is in or is very close to a surge area. Driving in 50 mph winds is better than floating out.

Until he gets stuck on a road due to downed trees or one that is already flooded.

It may have a bit, but water vapor doesn't show a lot. It cycled out a little dry air last night, too.

yes, the cold front that just came through is being picked up by the SW quadrant of Ian so all of that dry air will aid in weakening the system as it goes into central and eastern florida

Sad that Captiva is about to be wiped off the map. Love that place.

The dry air won’t do shite for landfall. Probably won’t help in general in terms of reduction of damage.

Recon data indicates that Hurricane #Ian has continued intensifying and now has maximum winds of at least 155 mph. Catastrophic 12-16 ft storm surge is now expected from Bonita Beach to Englewood. Truly awful situation unfolding here.

BDR just said the time to evacuate is over. Hunker in place. I heard that on the car radio. Mrs. Hangit wanted frozen strawberries for smoothies. The frozen pineapple, blueberries, mixed fruit with strawberries, bananas and papaya was not sufficient.

Undefeated.

okay, real question. I got people in zephyrhills, about 30 miles almost straight NE of tampa, so that NW quadrant looks to go right through them. how bad are they fricked? they've got plenty of food/water/booze and a generator on 10ish acres with horses.

The wind will be pretty rough depending on the strength of Ian at that point. Flooding from rain is to be expected as well.

Don't you also have a sporting goods store?

I hope it isn't ransacked.

I manufacture fishing tackle. Im not a store. I build and sell to stores like Dicks, etc. My shop basically has parts. It is in a much dangerous area than my house. I went there yesterday and did what I could to protect it from water but its two miles from the gulf. Its in a older building but its block and has storm windows and Im on the second floor. Im just praying it is not damaged
