Good for Tampa Bay, bad for Naples. It looks like Orlando is gonna get more of it too

For starters I feel safe.
Well, as long as you feel safe, you should be good.

You ain’t met these people
Book a hotel in Atlanta.
Drive up to Fayetteville for the Bama game.
Check out Asheville, NC.
Go for a road trip.
All of these are better ideas than riding out a major hurricane near the coast.

They'll be fine, unless they run out of booze.

12Z model data is rolling in over next 2-3 hours. NOAA's flagship global model GFS track of Hurricane Ian shows landfall south of Tampa Bay, as well.
Satellite presentation of #HurricaneIan continues to impress. The storm is taking full advantage of ideal conditions over Gulf of Mexico.
While we will use aircraft recon to determine the system's intensity, just via satellite this would be Category 4 (125-knots).

There is nothing stopping Hurricane Ian from intensifying for next 12-hours.
If the trend continues with warming eye and colder cloud tops surrounding it, then you can talk about the category after 4.
