Most civil servants downtown get an hour paid lunch, so they work 8:30 to 4:30. Not your multi level stagger, but at least it’s not 5:00.

You'd think with all the state offices downtown, some politician would've come up with the idea to stagger starting times in 30 minute increments.

I made the decision in 1978 to never live anywhere that I had to cross airline or drive the interstate to get downtown. I made it almost to Lobdell before moving back to capital heights.

I sit in Houston traffic almost every day. I sat in Dallas traffic today. BR traffic is next level frustrating. It’s demoralizing.

Slowly accelerating at the light like it’s just some casual drive is being a complete a-hole.
Of all the frustrating things about driving in BR, it was this that made me craziest. Slamming brakes to stop at a yellow and then moving promptly when it turned green. And this was 20 years ago. I imagine it’s unbearable now with everyone on their phones

Work for an employer that has flexibility and trusts its employees to get the job done beyond the 8 to 5 hours.

Live in MidCity so I can avoid traffic, and walk to Elsie’s.

I've always liked the idea of a hybrid office schedule where most desk jobs work 2 days a week at home. Gets workers off the road 2 days a week.
Landry got rid of this last year

I used to drive in DC area traffic every day, so BR traffic doesn’t scare me much. There were a handful of days it took an hour just to get out of my office park. Then there was a light that you’d have to sit thru for about 10 cycles before getting to the front of the line. It was unreal.

I guess I’m lucky
I’d take BR traffic over both of those in a heartbeat
