re: How successful do you think your father was at raising you?
Posted by Burnt Reynolds on 1/27/26 at 2:25 pm to W2NOMO
My dad worked his butt off all his life and not one thing to show for it. We never went without though, always had clothes, house, food. My mom and dad divorced in 1975 when i was five. he took custody of us. He passed away at 64 of a heart attack. I've been on a mission to not work myself to death like he did. Thanks to him and the US Army, I will retire in 5 years.

Spent my early childhood days there, right behind the old Hop-n-Shop on Railroad Ave. Move away from city limits and you''ll probably be alright. On a side note, sorry your wife neutered you into moving there. Stay strong, baw

re: Looking to buy my first guitar
Posted by Burnt Reynolds on 1/21/26 at 1:11 pm to Truama_dawg
I picked a Fender Squire strat for 150 to get the feel of one again. Its a good all around guitar to jam on. Since got a Guild hollow Body and just added a Fender Telecaster. There are plenty out there, just get one that feels right for you.

Once or twice a week. Just finished Stephen Ambrose, D-Day 6 June 1944. Excellent read. I either read before i go to bed for a few minutes or on the weekends when the wife goes to bed. Then I read or watch Adam-12 episodes

Was born there, but different times. Act like you didn't hear what she said.

re: So do Virginians just have their heads up their arse when going into the voting booth?
Posted by Burnt Reynolds on 1/21/26 at 7:07 am to Geekboy
Having just moved to Chesterfield, Virginia, it is North Virginia that is heavily democrat. Everything South of Richmond is majority republican. I voted for Sears but she was stuck on two issues instead of others. We are in for a long 4 years with Spamberger.
re: Divorce Attorney Advice

Get yourself a bulldog of a female lawyer. They tend to go for the throat. You advised that you and your spouse agreed on a custody schedule, however, sometimes the judge will have a say. I learned that from experience. Keep all emails, voicemails, texts, etc.

re: Tell me about the Chevy Custom Trail Boss
Posted by Burnt Reynolds on 4/24/24 at 2:15 pm to 4x4tiger
I have a 2021 Trail Boss, 5.3. No problems whatsoever. I didn't want anything fancy, which is why I chose the Custom. Dealership gave me $1000 for accessories, so I got step boards and trailer brake controller installed. made quite a few trips to Florida and to Fort Knox multiple times since i had it. Just turned 34,000 miles.
