OP.

It’s just a 5k. It’s not a marathon.

If you cannot run a 5k in under a half hour, you have a medical disability or you are fat.

I’d be will to bet the average person can not run a 5k in under 30 minutes.

Correct. But the guy is 6'1" 190 and appears to be moderately active running with someone who could pace him around the 30 min 5k mark. He may be winded afterwards...but he's not going to throw up

There's your problem. Just run with her and if she beats you, tell her how great she is and how, "I guess I should have trained more to run with you." I don't see a way to lose here.

29 min 5k is slow af

that is like a 9:30 min pace

If you don't run regularly, 29 minutes can be difficult to get to in a 5k.

That's fat frick speed. A fast speed for that would be around the 17-18 min mark.

the OP acts like he is a younger guy that is in relatively ok shape

its a slow jog with time to walk pace, it shouldn't be that hard

I have a friend that doesn't really work out or run regularly, he looks real healthy but his most strenuous exercise is playing guitar, he does that 7 Mile Bridge Run in Marathon, Fl every year, always finishes, never in the last pack

I can do it in under 25 minutes. It’s gonna be my splooge on her tits and lips instead of yours.

Get a phone call right before the race that your Grandma is having heart pain and run off to go see her. But literally run, and fast, to make her think you got speed as you book to your car to avoid getting your arse kicked in the 5k.

Okay, here's what you really do. Get as many friends as you can do go to the race. If you can get like 5 friends to show up you just raised $200 for the object of your obsession's charity.

Run the race as best you can. When your slow arse finally catches up to her at the finish after she's had 2 or 3 beers come clean. Tell her you've never run a day in your life but you wanted to impress her. She'll think it's adorable, yall will have a good laugh, and she'll give you all the sex you can handle

If you do this shes gonna get gang banged by your faster in better shape friends

I am 6'1", 170 lbs, in my mid 40s and have a bum knee and ran the corporate cup 5K earlier 5his year under 33 mins. Combination of walking and running. So umm ya you should be ok

ETS: I don't exercise at all and did not even warm up. So again you should be ok

It doesn't. Some people are just fall out of bed and run type people....I'm not....but a 10ish min/mile pace is kind of slow and doable if you really try.

Plus, he's gonna get to run at night.

That's a gift, right there.

All I'm saying is if the OP has never run in his life, he is going to have a tough time running a sub-30 min. 5K in the middle of summer right off the couch. Physically, he can probably do it. Mentally, he probably won't be able to push through it.

Either you are an elite running snob, or you have no idea what you're talking about. a 20-21-minute 5k is very fast and respectable for non-elites. Even a 23 minute 5-k is respectable for normal runners.
