Correction, I come off as an a-hole because I am an a-hole. I tell people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. If you don't like that, try having some self awareness.

And ask anybody that post on the F&D thread if I am an a-hole. Anything but, in the end though I am going to tell you what you need to hear, don't like oh fricking well buttercup.

She might be weight wise but that's the only area she would be considered average. Professionally, financially, being a great partner.... yea she is off the charts. She is an a-hole too, so it works to keep me in check.

I go no carb. I eat whatever the frick I want. I can make brownies, ice cream, any of that stuff. I eat eggs and bacon in the morning just no cereal. Milk? Good think I like coconuts. Eat all the cheese I want.

I just ate 3 huge crab legs with butter. I'm living bro, and I'm looking like I was at 18 and I'm in my 30s now.

That used to be, I always lifted pretty much but could eat what I wanted until mid 20s when I was taking the whole eat slay live motto a little to seriously. Ended up at 242, which is fat as frick. I was average, go my shite together fitness wise and guess what? The rest of my life followed suit.

That's when I realized being ok with anything other than excellence or at least striving for it at all times is the only way to live. I can't go crazy and eat triple hamburgers with large coke at lunch and an arse ton of rice and gravy for dinner. Just doesn't work.

In the end low carb or not, you are going to have to find your maintenance calories and adjust from there. I always suggest iifym as my default diet I give people because honestly who the frick wants to go through life being deprived of Nutella. But if someone is looking to get healthy, not just lose weight, whole 30 is by far the healthiest.

In the end I don't really give a shite what the average man of the ot does and won't unless they ask for specific advice. I just get so tired of all the fatties whining it's so hard, just want to scream well no shite!!!!

I don't even get how this is possible.

I eat whatever I want (although I do a lot of cardio) and I've been about 185 for a few years at 6'3.

Honestly it took effort to get that big. My normal day consisted of a pound of boudin, bag of cracklings and chocolate milk for breakfast. Triple cheeseburger with fries or a plate lunch for lunch, then dinner was usually some type of pasta or other high carb/fat/calorie meal. I also stopped working out and had moved to more of an office position as this was before I graduated. Still kept eating like I was still on my tools all day. Combined with going to school full time, having my first kid on the way and yeah it was the perfect storm. But it was still my fault and my responsibility to not be your typical average fatty. It's why I decided to change.

They say the problem with this diet is that as soon as you get off you gain all the weight back.

So. I'm diabetic. It's partly genetic as it runs in the family and partly the generation I grew up in which is addicted to carbs.

For me the low carb diet is great because it gives me a way to control my A1C without taking 5-6 shots of insulin a day and taking a host of other pills. A nice side affect is that my midsection tightens up (with exercise added of course).

That's good enough for me. If I can keep my sugar levels under control with diet alone it's a lifestyle I'm willing to lead.

Made a low carb pizza Saturday night.

I'll put my asian diet up against paleo everyday. They've only used food and herbs as medicine for 3000 years.

I work with a guy who does Paleo and another who is all vegan. Every time we have a catered lunch they bitch about it as if I'm supposed to find them an alternative option at every place we order from. Their diets are 100% by choice and not health related so we aren't required to provide options.

That's going a little far isn't it?

I haven't had bread

I could survive given decent results.

or pasta

That would be a test for me, but maybe I could make it at least with cutting it down to a minimum.

or beer

frick that! I'd give it a two day trial run at best.

It's a total abandonment of reason. Life without bread, dairy, alcohol, and other delectables that inject a little joy into one's life. I'm 3 weeks into an 8 week "mild" version of paleo and I've decided that paleo is a sham. I haven't had bread or pasta or beer or any form of sweet. Yeah, it's possible for a while. But it's no way to live.

I tried it for little over a month but I still drank beer.

The first couple weeks suck, b/c my energy levels and strength in the gym was down. But once my body adapted I was fine. After about 5 weeks I was ripped.

But I enjoy pizza and beer way to much. I don't need my 6 pack being awesome in the middle of winter.

They don't take in the fact of the evolution of our guts (although it's very slow) but they also don't take in the fact that our current vegetables and fruits are an abomination compared to what they were around their "paleo" time period.
