I'm about to grill 8lbs of chicken for the week, bake 6lbs of green beans, to go along with the garlic mashed potatoes I made the other day.

I did Whole30 (paleo extreme) for 8 days and gained 7 lbs. and felt awful. I've done much, much better over the years just eating good,
Real foods in moderation. Life without cheese and wine is not one I'm interested in!

Considering our species is over a million years old 40,000 years is s small percentage

It's our overall lifestyle that has changed so much and the introduction of cakes and cookies and such. Avoid the gluten and allergens and your sinuses will thank you

I needed a carb source other than shoveling greens in my face all day and the Paleo community has come around on regular potatoes.

Well, I was also pregnant at the time. My appetite was insane the first trimester this go round...I was starving and gained 10 lbs in 12 weeks. And now I'm 7 weeks from D-day and have only gained 5 more since. Been weird. But I blame the rapid gain on changing my diet up to such an extreme, although I did it thinking it would help sustain my appetite between meals. Nope! Just made me angry

And to the paleo true believers out there... you are assholes. Your diet operates on the false premise that man's digestive system has not adapted and changed over the last 40,000 years. You have to be miserable.

I've been doing it since Thanksgiving and I am only growing stronger. We stick with it and watch you and the rest of the weaklings fall by the wayside on our way to the domination of the gene pool. It's nature's way of separating the wheat from the chaff.

I did it for about 2 months, except the alcohol.

I still follow it somewhat but I gotta have bread and pasta.

I don't do any dairy and very little sugar at all, dairy is the devil.

I usually do Paleo for the month of January every year. I eat lots of eggs, bacon, and of course fruits/vegetables. Substituting common ingredients like cow's milk with coconut or almond milk and dairy butter for ghee isn't that bad. I think it improves my digestion and is always worth a few pounds of weight loss during the month. If nothing else it gets you in the kitchen cooking which I enjoy.

But I agree, I could never live my life without eating breads and cheeses.

I can't do it either. It cuts out nutrititional staples like pizza lean pockets.

You want to have a low carb diet? Great. No problem.

Just stop trying to wrap it up in some kind of bogus science about cavemen.
