I believe found the source of my $405 electric bill

My damn A/C condenser unit was damn near plugged. I don’t remember cleaning it last year, but I usually do every Spring. My neighbor has a long hair Sheppard/Retriever mix, and he hangs out between our houses, right where my A/C unit. The whole damn unit was plugged with dog hair.
FYI, go clean your A/C. It’s really simple and takes about 20 mins. You just need a 1/4” nut driver and a water hose. Do not use a pressure washer. They do sell fin cleaning spray at the hardware store.

Cleaned mine the other day, must have a a shite load of head pressure as it was so clogged. My neighbor has those stupid Poppas grass shite. May be time to have a night mission with some RM43.

Nice follow up. I was having a hard time believing what I was reading but I didn't know what your previous bills were and couldn't understand the % change. And was it over a month or compared to this month last year.

They are doubling the rates over 1500 kw so it’s the rate increase. You’ll be hearing this a lot from may-September

You do know a AC system has 2 coils. The outdoor condenser coil and the indoor (cooling) coil. Keeping both clean is ideal but it is way more important to have the indoor coil clean during the summer. That is the one that will jack your bill up and lead to blown blower motors and compressor if they get plugged.
