Yea, screw that. I guess I always assumed they flew over the hurricane. I‘ve always thought it would be awesome to be on one of the recon flights but not anymore after watching that video.

They did this with generators in South Florida after Wilma, they also had to station a cop 24/7 with the generator to ensure it wasn't stolen.

This is why in the delta we just use a 4 way stop sign welded to an old truck rim in the middle of the intersection

This thing has gained 10 mph at every 2 hours update today. If that trend holds it'll be cat 3 at the 8 update.

The pressure of Hurricane Idalia is officially 972mb, making it a mid-strength Category 2 hurricane. It's looking like rapid intensification has begun

I just looked at the radar and you could see the eye is forming a little better... Damn glad that Franklin is headed out to sea.. 125MPH 947 MB right now..

Interesting to note: NHC has dropped the maximum forecasted winds from 125 mph to 115 mph.

Always read the discussion.

The forecast times aren't catching the max. They still are forecasting a 125 mph max.

If I had to drink every time TWC mentions surge or rapid intensification….I would be dead within 5 minutes.

Is this a complaint or simply a happy observation?
