The winter storm of March 1993 was one of the most impressive meteorological events of our lifetimes.

Those easterly bands of wind and rain started to hit us a little while ago. Now the thunder is starting. Fortunately, it doesn't look like a turn towards us like Ian.

We're starting to cook now. Expansion of the outflow on WV this morning, especially into the north and NE.

Mass starting to really be ejected now.

Dammit, already hearing the Climate change contingent barking about this hurricane.

they usually migrate and spread out during warmer months. Colder months they concentrate in the bays and rivers in Florida.

This westward moving is not good for my interests at all. Going to be a lot of trees to mess with after this.

When are you going?

Not sure, sometime this evening I'd guess, maybe fairly late. I want to see a few forecast updates first.

Why?

It aint going to change much from here. Major hurricane into the Big Bend. Most of the questions are answered at this point.

We had Cat. 3 winds for Michael and the trees did remarkably well. But once you got to Cat. 4 areas the trees were a mess. That whole swath from Mexico Beach to Marianna and north was amazing to see. Pines lying everywhere.
