It’s on track to pass right over my house in about an hour.

Future track better not be playing with my emotions!

Is there such a thing as a storm with little rain and no wind?

Well there may be wind breaking during those, depending on the recipient and their desires.

Maybe I'm just gun shy from Ida and my insurance going up 300%... but I'll take a drought over another storm

Same here, not only have my rates increased but my deductibles have gone up too.

If we can stay storm free another year or two, I can relax easier.

My deductible doubled. Insurance went from 1200 a year to 5k. Just swapped this year.

Yep, likely a sheared-out mess into FL, more similar to an October Gulf system than an August one.

With cooler weather expected next week will that mean that the high pressure sitting over the middle of the US will dissipate?

If that happens what would stop the next storm that heads into the gulf from becoming a problem?

NOT wishcasting!! Just not sure if this means more activity in the GOM….

Replace it with an eastern trough and storms get kicked east.

When you posted it at first none of the models had anything close to a storm in the Gulf during that time period. I know because I tried to find what you were talking about. What the NHC did later does nothing at all to change that fact.

Yes All 3 models showed this exact low pressure system crossing the into the Caribbean 3 days. Very easy to go back and see if you’d like or maybe I just got very lucky in my prediction huh
