rds has a nice breakdown of other factors above.

That upper low will either act to shear Nate or help it ventilate (basically Nate could suck up more water). All depending on how far SW it dives. More SW, more help Nate.

Absolutely. There's always a chance for it to go east, especially in the month of October.

Still a lot of possibilities until it enters the Gulf. Once it enters the GOM we should start seeing some more definitive models/projections.

It's pretty ugly, but 40mph and a closed circulation is all it takes for a TS, and that's believable.
