Yep. Conditions were very mild outside, we even made cookies and settled down to watch a movie and then off. For almost 24 hours.

We were out for 4 days after Ian.

You should have been here for the start of covid. Everyone here pretends like they didn’t get a shot and were against lockdowns from the start. But I remember the pitchforks and anger at a man who went to his father daughter dance in Missouri with no indication that he was infected and people wanted him arrested for attempted murder. The OT is full of hypocrites.

Yes...actual meteorologist knew it was going to weaken just as rapidly as it formed.

The historical data that gets brought up is stupid. For example....the labor day hurricane in 35. All of its numbers were recorded at landfall...just like any other hurricane before we had the ability to get at sea readings. Imagine what the pressure was at sea with that storm...many many others.

Comparing at sea and landfall readings is asinine

I can link the posts if you like. In March 2020, this place was begging for lockdowns. Project, who I respect when it comes to LSU baseball, was in pitchfork mode over a man who went out in public while one of his daughters was sick. No tests were available yet to see what she had but he went to a father daughter dance and people here wanted him arrested for leaving home and “endangering” everyone he came in contact with. It was crazy.

around 2 or so. We were in the park this morning and had no waits on any rides. Now the hotel is on shelter in place in rooms until tomorrow morning. Kids are watching Encanto in bed as I type. I pray everyone along the coast is safe. And hoping it gets by us here in disney quickly.

What’s the gas situation like around Orlando?

Down to 115 mph at 9 ET. It should continue to weaken pretty rapidly now that it’s over land. It’s going to be a major wind storm, but not that buzzsaw people thought two days ago.

Scary talk but that would be the forecasted wind gusts with or without a sting jet.

The NHC forecast is for it to be a 90 mph hurricane with gusts to 115 mph when it’s SW of Orlando… so these wind gusts are actually lower than the NHC forecast despite the scary nerd talk.

Weather channel guy in Tampa didn't seem to be alarmed just now. Then they go to Paul and its calm as shite. Glad it downgraded before land fall. Jim Cantor is pissed he isn't in the shite. He's in a parking garage. Really!
