I’m just talking about the cone. How does making a cone smaller or larger do anything but make people aware that a storm could be in your neighborhood in five days?

You would still have the forecast path (line) and most folks watch that any way.

The story of Lee, after it blew up, has been the huge windfield. It'll push a bunch of water regardless how strong it is now.
