I never said if it becomes a hurricane. I said we won’t get a hurricane.

I deliver for UPS in Bayou La Batre. That small but productive seafood town was destroyed by Katrina. I didn't have this job at that time but anytime there is any threat you see it. The panic.

I am 48 years old now. My father graduated from LSU Med School in 1979 and was a resident at USA hospital there in Mobile at the time. My father worked that night and said a wall of the hospital caved in. My mom held me and her bible overnight that night as the storm came in. Mobile was without power and water for 2 weeks.
I'm slightly older than you and was too young to remember Hurricane Frederic but that storm was a worst case scenario track for the city of Mobile.
Frederic was a rapidly intensifying high end Cat 3 as it made landfall on the eastern tip of Dauphin Island heading north/northwest with an eastern and northern eyewall driving storm surge the full length of Mobile Bay towards downtown Mobile.
A wind gauge on the Dauphin Island bridge (which was destroyed in the storm) measured a 147 mph wind gust before the instrument failed and stopped reporting data

Semantics but it made landfall on the western end. Eye went over grand bay. Bayou La Batre was destroyed.

I think you are fighting a losing battle at this point. Just suck it up (pun intended) and take your loss.

Per further discussion with my mom-- Hundreds to thousands of thick oak trees in Mobile were uprooted with their entire root system in view. Frederic was a powerful SOB

Missed it by a blonde one, OPB. You're safe for now.

I don’t live in NOLA - so no idea- but it was a wall holding back a canal that was named after a street.
Regardless, are suggesting a conspiracy? I mean, we were all dumb back in 2005 and believed the government on everything, so it wouldn’t shock me.
