For the record, the MPAS had a west bias for Barry and kept showing a strong system into Texas.

You are in Melbourne correct? I have family in Melbourne Beach & Jacksonville. I told them today my doors were open in little sleepy Dunnellon if they needed to come stay. Since we were out of "cone" & everyone over here (except me) "think" we are 100% in the clear. Damn.

I can see it well on both mobile and desktop.
However, when he first posted it they were gifs. But I noticed they're no longer animated. Weird.

Held steady at 150 mph for new update, which is kind of surprising given the data coming in from recon.

I guess Melbourne & Sanford airports will follow MCO for closures (if not sooner). 2 a.m. Monday?
I feel for anyone who is experiencing Dorian for their first hurricane ever. He is so not typical. Unless global warming advocates might state this IS new normal.
Good luck on getting back home safe & sound. Too much confusion with this. "Betsy-Camille-Katrina" and other less significant storms never had me this confused or perplexed. Age I guess. Uncertainty for sure. Again thanks for your info & patience!

The thing about weather is that it is never the same twice.

Airport officials previously said OIA would close at 2 a.m. on Monday. “Orlando International Airport will continue normal operations on Monday,” the airport said in a statement.

Just gonna do a drive by on nonthreatening west side for east coast. Time to stop giving the weather channel views.

I’ve been living on the space coast for a few years now and that is the general attitude for all storms that have come this direction in the last few years. Lots of native Floridians on the central east coast that don’t get too concerned with storms.
Add to that, that most of us live in concrete boxes for houses built with some pretty strict building codes, it makes sense to “hide from the wind, run from the water” if you live in the coastal counties.

In other news, I’m watching the local news and they interviewed a guy living in Cocoa Beach prepping his house wearing an LSU shirt.... if you’re posting here let us know. Haha
