Don't just sit there and accept this bullshite. When you get on the plane, take the roll of toilet paper out of the bathroom. I bet they'll think twice before delaying the next flight.

Delta One, Rome to New Orleans.
Stopped boarding due to a mechanical issue. Cancelled flight. Could not fly home till 48 hrs later.
European law - they paid each of us $650 for the delay.
Delta Customer service gave each of us $2,125 in Flight credits.
We flew 3 more round trips on the Delta $$$ - Key West, Miami & Knoxville.
Used the $1300 for hotels.
Didn’t even have to ask for anything.

Back in '23 KLM cancelled my flight from AMS to ATL about 3 hrs before the flight.
I ended up staying overnight then AMS-CDG-ATL the next day.
they reimbursed me for the hotel, food and threw in about $600 for my inconvenience.
I really didn't have to ask, just filled out forms and voila.

I usually shite in my hand and throw it at the stewardess. Then I run up and down the center aisle of the plane on my knuckles, beat my chest, flare my nostrils and accuse them of disrespek.

Option 1 - act like your parents raised you and just be respectful and make note of company performance for future reference.

What's the delay from? Weather? You get nothing for that. Mechanical? Call customer service and they'll probably throw something at you just two shut you up. Maybe a $50 voucher or something.

Delta gave me $300 gift card once for giving up my seat because of a weight issue that caused 1.5 hour delay. By that time I wasn’t making my connecting flight anyway and much preferred the quiet little regional airport with no crowds at the bar I was in to wait for a rearranged flight schedule.
That’s about all I can to the conversation unless you want to hear about having drinks with a lady who was flying to a rehab center and had a theory to give herself a horrible hangover to start the program off so she could go through with “I’m never drinking again.”

What is it with people who think they deserve some free shite when things don't go their way? There are delays, flight cancelations, etc that happen. shite happens, sometimes you just have to ride it out. You have to know how to talk your way into something and having the attitude "how do I get free shite when the airlines screw up?" isn't the attitude you use to do that.
You have to communicate with people in away where they will think "you know what? I like that guy, is day is being disrupted so I am going to do something to maybe make it a little better". No one wants to deal with the person who thinks they are owed something for things that are out of other people's hands.
