My daughter calls it classic old money
I have always had antiques so I have never had a trendy look.

That's my style. Lots of globes and animal heads and whatnot. Definitely going to work in an old wooden ship's wheel and a brass spittoon at some point.

I draw the line at taxidermy. I do allow old duck decoys and animals in art pictures on the wall. I also found a really cool very small metal moose weather vane that I love. No globes but very old huge map picture. Two copper vases that are a similar shape is the closest thing to a spittoon that will ever be here. Closest thing to a nautical element is an old metal hand lantern on the hearth.

Every single new house in Bay St Louis is white with some off grey or blue shutters, full coastal theme inside and out. White kitchens, white shiplap, hell, white picture frames. Makes it easy for the builders I guess.
We are on the coast, but this style is some South Carolina thing, I guess, that’s popular in the magazines.

Yeah it real popular here in Savannah and Charleston. Like I said she added a lot of modern elements as well so it looks a lot different than most.

Hang one of these up in the dining room.

People dangerous or toxic shite may have been on pallets... don’t even get down wind of one burning let alone decorate your house with that crap.

She is going to cry into her millions from your stern disapproval. My wife does a bit of the farmhouse look, but not to the extent many do. There for sure should be a signs / sq ft rule.

Looks like she’s a big Joanna Gaines fan

Tell her you have a thing for Joanna (or Chip) Gaines, then every time she does more of this crap, tell her that it reminds you of Joanna (or Chip) and how much you love it.

She going for the Great Depression sharecroppers shack look?
Burlap curtains.

Who cares? Let her do what she wants to your house.
Here's the plan for you to maintain your sanity and the sanctity of you marriage:
1. Do you have a garage?
- If you do, move everything out of it and create a mancave, shop that is to your taste. Make it clear she has NO say in what it contains.
2. If you don't have a garage, build one.
3. If you can't build one where you are, move to somewhere that you can. A nice 30x40 building of your own.
Once you have your space (with requisite large screen TV, killer stereo, tools, etc.) SPEND ALL YOUR TIME THERE that you'd normally spend inside with her.
This is the only way you can save your marriage.

I don't think you do stop it. This is what women do, they nest. Decorating is part of that.
Make peace with it and move on.

Just tell you like her to decorate
a sandwish in the kitchen w/maybe a
sweet tea to go with it. When she gets thru
you want fried chicken for supper.

Distressed is already going out of style. Look on FB Markrtplace, everyone is getting rid of it. Thankfully, I never sanded or painted any of our wood furniture.

Leave her alone. You do what u want to the outside of the house, she does what she wants to the inside. No more arguments

Its too late but you should have just told her you didnt like it. That look is already out of style.
We completely remodeled/gutted the inside of our new house and I had a say in almost everything we picked out. Im not going to pay to live in something I cant stand to look at. The one thing I wasnt sure about was grey cabinets. But we did grey cabinets with a big white island and white quartzite countertops. Turned out awesome. I would have shutdown burlap curtains in a heartbeat, good lord no.
