Let the kids at the furniture store do the heavy lifting for sure. But, once they get it in the truck, secure your own cargo like a real man should

Truck drivers are responsible for their loads, even though 99% of the time they do not load their trailers.

A good truck driver will make sure his load is very secure before leaving the loading docks.

I upvoted you for having the gall to post this. I bet you bet you felt stupid taking pictures of your chair on the side of the road.

Having worked at a furniture store before, I can guarantee you signed something saying you are picking it up and giving them the right to tie and not be held liable. As everyone else has said.. you are responsible for anything in your vehicle no matter of it is tied in the back or a passenger without a seat belt on. As a driver, that's on you buddy.

Consider yourself lucky. What if when it fell off your truck it had caused an accident that killed someone?

I wonder who the lawyer of the family of the deceased would have blamed?

Don't abuse one of the few good things left in this world. The ability to dispute a credit charge is like an ace up your sleeve.

Sorry dude ur screwed.

I don't trust anyone that puts something in the back of my truck. Learned that lesson years back. I always double check. Same as with a trailer being pulled.

I'm not sure if this woul fall under store policy or legality. When I worked in retail, we were strictly allowed to load items into vehicles. We were not allowed to strap it in or tie it down. That was the customer's responsibility. We did it that way to avoid liability in situations such as yours.

It was in your truck tard. You basically took delivery of it. It flew out of your truck, not theirs. Same as it breaking while you're taking it out if the truck.

If I were them, I'd tell you I'd price match someone else, but you can shove your broken chair up your arse

Why would you ever trust a bunch of stoned teenagers to properly secure your property? I would've brought my own ratchet straps baw regardless of what the furniture store offered

I've tied down plenty of furniture while high. But I'm also not an idiot, and know how to strap things down properly.
