Every owner should have straps in their truck at all times. Mine are stowed below the rear seats.

Best you can demand is a refund on the loading and securing fee.
CONGRATULATIONS, they just refunded you $0!
Seriously, I would try to get a replacement at their cost. Then I would load it, tie it, and the not subject it to hurricane force winds on the interstate!
You sir, are a double dumb arse!

in case you were wondering WHY your shite flew out at speed, it's because it came untied.
that yellow nylon rope is slippery and and does not knot securely unless you really know your knots
ratchet straps are like 5 bucks for 4
check in here once you get them and we will tell you how to use them

he'd have been better off just pushing the chair over in his bed than tieing it upright

I personally secure anything I haul myself. Once it's secure, I go a little further.
I hauled a 16' trailer loaded with furniture from nyc to Kansas then load to nola from Dallas and my tarps didn't even flap. (One continuos* week long trip)
I feel like you should have put ratchet straps on it. never trust bungees or twine.
*don't you hate when you know a word looks wrong but spellcheck don't flag it.

Why would you ever trust a bunch of stoned teenagers to properly secure your property? I would've brought my own ratchet straps baw regardless of what the furniture store offered
This post deserves a gold star and really should end any discussion posed by the OP.
