The most modern and advanced military in the world today vs 1940s military tech

Gee I dunno. However long it takes to raze their cities and infrastructure with ballistic missiles. We probably don’t even lose any soldiers. Ground troops unnecessary. Germany relied on railroads for supply chains, they’d have no air defense systems capable of shooting our jets down. We would have air superiority in a day and destroy all supply lines. Panzer divisions wrecked. Their U boats would be sunk in no time. A MOAB takes out all the bunkers on Normandy beach in an instant.

Just think how simple the D-day landing would be with modern tech. Every bunker erased with precision. It would simply be a massacre.

I don’t think we would even have to destroy Germany. If they saw our modern tech in action once they’d surrender immediately

They would just nuke Berlin and be done with it.

Even better, since we know Adolf's itinerary, wait for him to visit Berchtesgaden and nuke that. Less collateral damage.

I’m not a war expert, but with all the bureaucracy now a days annd all of our politicians being glorified lawyers it prob would never happen. Throw in Trump’s empty threats as a leader and we’d prob make a deal to keep Hitler alive with a billion dollar salary just to get out of the war and call that a victory. Hell, how many billions of dollars and lives have been lost in the last two decades fighting people who live in tents.
Yes, I now see how Trump managed to bankrupt a casino.

What's next? Are you going to ask if the US could beat Caesar Augustus in a war?

War technology has advanced more between 1945 and 2026 than it did between Caesar's time and 1945.

We would spot Hitler and his high command via satellite and erase him from existence before the war even started.

We did that with Iran, yet we are still at war five months later. Except we killed about 47 of their leaders.

At the very start of the Ukraine/Russia conflict I could see Germany being able to steam roll both sides. Now with the drones and tech not so much.

We could annihilate Germany's capacity to wage conventional war in a few weeks at most. We would struggle with eliminating the leadership, occupying the country, and quelling the inevitable insurgency, just like we always do.

There’s approximately as much time that has passed between the current day and World War II as between World War II and the American Civil War. How do you think the combined armies of the Union and the Confederacy would have fared against the German Army, Luftwaffe, and Kreigsmarine of 1941?

Nazi Germany at their peak? How well would our intelligence be capturing/killing Hitler? And all the other Nazi leaders?

That depends on if you’re also including today’s political climate where wars are fought with arms tied behind our backs.

You are assuming Germany and the Nazis don’t have this same intelligence and arsenal.

German engineers are still German engineers.

And actually right now Germany has a strong military.

Now the one in the region currently that would dominate anyone around including Russia is Poland. There military is strong, well equipped and fricking tough. They also have had 75 years to build one of the best intelligence agencies on the globe.

They remember what the east and the west did to them and I doubt that would happen again.

But that’s off the topic

And to think that D-Day is within living memory is pretty crazy. The advancements in technology that have been made in the last 60-80 years are unlike anything that has happened in the history of mankind.
