The insecurity in this thread is amazing. Bathing with your young child is as natural as feeding and protecting them. My oldest became uninterested at 6 (boy). I wouldn't bathe with my daughter after 2, and my youngest is 4 (boy) ...still jumps in the shower with me all the time.

It's time to grow up gentlemen. Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina. You'll end up perpetuating bodily insecurities and you don't want that for your children. Why are some of you worried about your penis?

Well since I’m the dad, I never started to begin with. As for Mrs. Vader, I think it was like a few months? And even then I don’t think she did it more than a handful of times if that much.

If I get nasty I'll take another shower. I work in a home office. Not sure what you do that gets you "nasty" every day, but some folks in here are implying some weird sexual thing about showering with their own kids. That is probably a little worse for normal people than a morning shower routine.

2 kids (boy and girl) and neither ever showered/bathed with me or my wife.

I accept it is a normal practice and for 99.9% of the parents out there that do it, there is nothing inappropriate occurring.

It is still kind of weird, creepy and extremely lazy on the parents that do it.

Just being up and going throughout my day sweating and living

I shower every night before getting in my bed whether I’m “nasty” or not.

My girls used to jump in with their mom when they were little (up to 3). After that they decided more room was needed for toys so mom had to go. Nothing creepy about it at all.

Once she got married at 28. Her yankee husband didn't approve and instead of jeopardizing her future, I just told her it'd be best to stop.

If they ever get divorced tho...

It broke me. I went to therapy four years after it happened, finally just got tired of going, felt like I was talking to someone obligated to act like they gave a shite, it’s been difficult. It screwed my mom and dad up really bad. I’m thankful my grandmother passed away before we learned the truth. That was her only great grand baby. The mother and I both have restraining orders against each other, I haven’t been able to see her in years. It was a rough deal. I’m just now coming out the other side. It’s difficult dating a girl with a kid for this reason. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I just had surgery for an inguinal hernia and I’m hoping it won’t mess with me being able to have kids. The wanted to repair both sides but just opted to fix the lefty. I’ll get through it. Just difficult thinking back on everything.

Damn man, I can only imagine how rough that would be.
I remember starting a thread on here with the question of how would people here handle it and I was pretty shocked to see how many said they'd just move on.

I don’t understand how bathing with your little kids is creepy unless you yourself are a creep

Sorry, Turkey…but I never hopped in the tub with my daughter and had her bathe me.

I mean bro, neither did I with mine the premise of taking a bath with your kid isn’t for them to bathe you dude lmao. It’s to have fun, be goofy, make memories with your kid and be in that moment. And to get em clean of course. They are only young and innocent for such a time. There’s nothing wrong with it in my eyes. Those are some of my best memories with her. Counting rubber duckies. Kid could count to 40 at 1.

You go through the motions of moving on but inside you never do. I’d kill to still have her by my side. Those naps with her head on my chest made me feel more whole than I’ve ever felt in my life. She was my purpose for living. Seeing any Frozen or Minnie Mouse stuff immediately brings me right back and I just pause. You can’t just turn off your paternal instinct once it’s been switched on. It’s a different type of pain. They diagnosed me with PTSD and acute anxiety after it happened. I’ve lived through my uncle being murdered, losing all of my moms side of the family within a 10 year period, lot of shite. That was the worst of them all. That changed me as a man. Best way I can describe it is it feels like your child’s been kidnapped, you know right where they are and can do nothing about it.

A friend of an ex GF bathed with her son who was 10 or 11 at the time. I thought that was way too weird to mention. This woman was very opinionated and thought she was right on everything.

Bathing with mom is one thing but no one wants to see big hairy dad dick. It’s best for dad to stay out of the tub when he bathes the children.
