I mean what you’re embarrassed to be naked around your kid? The same kid who’s diaper you change, arse you wipe, and body you scrub clean? That kid?

I get what you're saying, but when your daughter grabs your ding dong because she thinks it's a toy, your opinion changes real quick.

I have 3 girls, so bathing with me isn't gonna happen.

I don't recall any of them ever bathing with my wife either.

People are strange. I raised a little girl for 2 1/2 years only to find out she wasn’t mine. I cherish every memory of her hitting toys against the wall at 5:45 in the morning to wake me up, all of it. I don’t get people that hold their kid at arm’s length for whatever reason. That is your baby. Cherish them.

Dang. How’s you handle that. Are you still involved in the child’s life? I imagine it would be very hard not to be. For all intents and purposes that is your child. I’m sorry.

Yup. My boy is 9 and my girl is almost 11 now. They still ask for lullabies every night they are with me, and it’s the best part of my day. And I know one day they aren’t going to ask for the cuddles and lullabies anymore and it’s gonna break my heart,

The Last Lullaby.
Man…there’s a song that’ll cut to the quick.

But the fact that I got the chance to make those memories makes it even sweeter.

I only ever showered with my youngest once - we were on a trip and there was no tub - the shower was odd so I couldn’t bathe her standing outside the shower either - she was 3 (6 now)

Another time years ago - I handed #2 (who is 16 now) to my husband in the shower bc of a massive blow out, dad was in the shower bc of the blowout

I never bathed with my kid. Not saying it's weird if you did, I just never did.

I’ve always thought it was strange when people say “my kids have NEVER bathed/showered with me” like it’s some taboo or strange thing. They’re your children. Nothing perverted about you taking a bath with your infant child and watching them play with rubber duckies
100% this

It's no biggie if you've never done it but some act like it's some weird thing without realizing they're the weirdos for thinking that way.

It broke me. I went to therapy four years after it happened, finally just got tired of going, felt like I was talking to someone obligated to act like they gave a shite, it’s been difficult. It screwed my mom and dad up really bad. I’m thankful my grandmother passed away before we learned the truth. That was her only great grand baby. The mother and I both have restraining orders against each other, I haven’t been able to see her in years. It was a rough deal. I’m just now coming out the other side. It’s difficult dating a girl with a kid for this reason. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I just had surgery for an inguinal hernia and I’m hoping it won’t mess with me being able to have kids. The wanted to repair both sides but just opted to fix the lefty. I’ll get through it. Just difficult thinking back on everything.

I think it depends on if you have boys or girls. I only have girls so I let them shower with me up to 3. They still shower/bathe with my wife and our oldest is 6.

People with kids understand, little kids want to be around you 24/7 no matter what you are doing including bathing. Sometimes letting them bathe with you is convenient because then you don’t have to give them their own bath.

Uhhhh…

Never did that.

Sounds creepy.
