How old were your kids when you stopped letting them bathe with you?

People with kids understand, little kids want to be around you 24/7 no matter what you are doing including bathing. Sometimes letting them bathe with you is convenient because then you don’t have to give them their own bath.

How old were your kids when they stopped asking for this or when you stopped letting them do this?

I’m thinking 3-4 is the age?

Let them bathe with you as long as you want

I wouldn’t listen to any parental advice you get from this website

My wife throws my boys in the shower with me when we’re feeling lazy. I scrub their nasty asses down and don’t think twice about it. They’re 6 and 3. The 6 year old is to the point of showering himself, so he’ll get kicked out soon enough.

My 4 day old daughter(whom I’m currently holding) will never bathe with me.

As a dad, I have showered with my girls until 1 y/o. I still shower with my boys and they are 4 and 2.

Walt’s one of the only honest answers you’ll get on here for this OP.

Real answer, don’t worry about it and do what you feel like. Everyone is different. I know a lady that is breast feeding a 3 year old in public. Don’t tell me that’s better than showering with them.

I shower my kiddos, it’s so much easier than bending over a tub and doing all that nonsense.

3-4 is probably a good age. I think I was 4 when I started taking showers by myself. My oldest daughter is 5 and we have always given her baths. She is starting to take showers by herself, but she just goofs off most of the time. Kinda wish my wife took more showers with her when she was younger so she would learn that the goal is to clean yourself.

I remember bathing with my parents when I was 3-4.

I’ve never bathed with my kids. Nothing against it but I just never really wanted to, especially when they sometimes shite or piss in the tub.

I’ve always thought it was strange when people say “my kids have NEVER bathed/showered with me” like it’s some taboo or strange thing. They’re your children. Nothing perverted about you taking a bath with your infant child and watching them play with rubber duckies. those are memories.

Right?!?!?

I mean what you’re embarrassed to be naked around your kid? The same kid who’s diaper you change, arse you wipe, and body you scrub clean? That kid?

I think gender plays a big role here. I remember taking a shower or a jacuzzi bath with my dad and I may have been 6. Meanwhile my son hasn’t wanted for that at all. So I guess it depends.

He does like to climb in bed and cuddle with me and I don’t mind that either. I think I’ll miss it when it stops.

I threw my 7 y/o son in the shower with me at the camp last weekend. I don't think I'd sit in a bath with him though. That seems kind of weird

There’s definitely a line between bathing and showering.
