46, so half my age +7 is 30... if I was going to have more kids, I'd want to date women younger than 30. Since that's not likely, I'd be more likely to choose one closer to my age who's kids are likely already grown / I wouldn't have to work around (or pay towards indirectly.)

That said, I have two kids full time as a single father, so I'm probably out of the dating pool until they get out of HS (and then I'm on the hook for college). Resigned myself to the fact that any serious relationship is probably off the table for a while since I don't want to dilute the resources available for my own children.

42 would date 30 maybe 25. Younger girls seem to be more of a headache.

I was 30 when I started dating my 20 yr old (eventual) wife. Didn't meet the half + 7 rule but we've been married for 31 years so......rules are meant to be broken I guess.

+- 7-8 years. If I start talking about my favorite rock bands and they ask if they are bluegrass, then I'm out.

I’m 42. I’d go as low as 24 as long as she has a career and her shite together. Surprisingly there’s many women like that here in DFW.

Eta: I dated a 26 year old lawyer when I was 40. Had a blast together. Didn’t work out for other reasons, age never factored into the equation. It was religion, I’m non-denominational and she was satan.

That was my hooking up rule

Now I’m taken, she’s 38, and life is good. Glad I’m not single any longer. Dating is a bitch nowadays

I am single and the half age + 7 calculation puts a woman at 42.5 for me. What 42 year old would want to date a 71 year old guy?

Single works for me, though I would enjoy having a woman who would like to go out to dinner from time to time.

So a 64 yo woman with a 39 yo man? No thank you.

Not for me either, but it's supposedly what 'society' accepts.

Pete Davidson (25) was dating Kate Beckinsale (45). Guess that didn't last.

Lotta rockstars have a far bigger age gaps than that though.

I’m 53 and single. I don’t have a definitive number, but I get more cautious if they’re under 40. It’s not really about the age, but more about their stage in life. Many under 40 have younger kids or want kids. I’m not interested in either at this point in my life.

I am 54 and the exact same situation. All of what you said.

I’m 44. The youngest I would go would probably be mid 30s. Below that is a different era of people. The mentality is different once you hit a different generation from yourself.

This is for serious dating anyway.

I think The half your age plus 7 rule works pretty well. (Round up.)

Yea, it really does

I'm 43 so that puts the number around 29, which seems right.

I'm married so it's all moot but I think going to about 25 could work too provided they were already in a career and mature for that age, so probably not the easiest to find, not that they'd be looking for a 43 year old lol.

42 and if I was single I would take anything I can get. Anything that’s legal.

I’m in my late 50s. If I were single I don’t think I could go any younger than early to mid 40s.
