Enough to comfortably charter a private jet to wherever you want to fly to travel.

F u money is enough money to buy your way out of consequences. How much money that is depends upon the consequences one is trying to avoid.

F U money for one person might be the ability to drive as fast as they want and just pay any speeding ticket they get because the fine isn’t enough money to harm them.

F U money might be having such a large account at a business that you can avoid having to deal with bad customer service.

F U money just means you can buy your way out of situations that would be damaging, crippling, or massively inconvenient to a regular person.

If you’re richer than anybody in Louisiana.

That of course is not very difficult to accomplish.

Depending on your lifestyle, I'd say anything north of this is plenty sufficient.

Billionaire. F you money is applied to other rich people, not the middle class. Gotta be able to pay to have something named after you at the least.

It is a solid piece of advice that translates outside of that movie.

How you know you are ready for retirement. Not so much a money state of mind but an attitude.

Well I don’t know for sure, but right now I am shopping for small airplanes. But I no way consider myself to have FU money.
And honestly, ALL of the people I know that have that type of money never stop working. Ever. 24/7/365 chasing a dollar till they die.
Screw that.
